New Mexico Los Luceros
I had the privilege of collaborating with New Mexico’s Los Luceros Historic Site — a breathtaking 148-acre property along the Rio Grande that preserves over a thousand years of Indigenous, Hispanic, and Anglo-American history.
Known for its historic adobe buildings, fertile farmland, and rare Navajo Churro sheep, Los Luceros is a living piece of New Mexico’s cultural heritage. I visited the site in person to fully experience its atmosphere, photograph the grounds and sheep with my Canon camera, and gather details for my writing.
Using those first-hand impressions, I designed a detailed, visually engaging booklet highlighting the story of their Navajo Churro sheep, from their origins and cultural significance to their continued care on the property.
My goal was to create a piece that celebrated both the beauty of the sheep and the rich history of Los Luceros, blending thoughtful design with storytelling that honored the community and traditions it represents.
